Halloween Countdown!

Hello Fellow ROAL’ers!

We are one week away from the anticipated release of Book 6 of the Remnants of Another Life Series! I’ve included an excerpt below. I hope you enjoy it!

Forgiven” will be live on October 31st, and pre-order links can be found below as well. This last book will be the conclusion of The Order story arc. After this story is out, I will begin working on individual Alpha Team character books, starting with Agent Frisk.

And, as always, don’t forget to join my Facebook group! The ROAL Group is the easiest way to keep up to date on series announcements and meet other dedicated readers such as yourselves!

Much love,

Diana

Frisk stared at the empty space agent Fang once occupied inside their helicopter, doing a double take as he glanced at the open side the wolf demon had just leaped out of without a parachute.
     Cue the WTF’ing.
“Fang!” Trace ran toward the open door, gripping the metal handle located on the aircraft’s ceiling, before swinging his head out into the open air.
“He’ll be fine,” Frisk bit out, praying he was right. He vaguely remembered from the memories he shared with the wolf demon that Fang had leapt from higher heights in the past, but he’d be damned if he dedicated any more time to it while there was a war going on.
His team was currently missing two members; one they had heavily come to rely on for shielding the team from attacks, and the other who just so happened to be a bonafide killing machine with a gift for battle strategy.
“F__k,” he roared as he forced himself to focus on the gunshots in his peripheral before searching the faces of his remaining team members.
Mystic, Trace and Terrain were staring at him, awaiting orders.
“Arm up with those sniper rifles,” he spat, his mind finally coming into sharp focus as the chaos of their situation finally sunk in. “We’ll pick off as many of the enemy as we can from up here.”
The agents down on the ground were following a previously devised strategy that Frisk was unaware of. The worst thing he could possibly do, for his team’s safety, as well as the safety of his other agency brothers and sisters, was parachute down to the ground and blindly engage the enemy.
The four elite Reconnaissance agents scrambled to arm themselves and hunker down to the floor of the helicopter, positioning themselves at the lower two corners of each open door.
Frisk pressed his shoulder to the cold floor, angling his big frame in the corner of the entranceway as Trace took the other. His breathing slowed as he aimed his rifle. Focusing through its scope, he tried to identify members of The Order who were actively engaged with the soldiers down below.
A shot rang off in the background as he realized Alpha Team was following suit.
Slow. Take your time, his mind whispered as he honed in on the neck of a male grappling with someone in a tactical vest.
     Boom!
He smiled as a geyser of blood coated his target’s clothing before he dropped to the floor.
Next. He looked up over his gun, trying to identify his next target before once again relying on the aid of the scope. To say the melee taking place below was a mess would have been the understatement of the year. It was obvious that the people that The Order brought to this little party had military training. Those shields they had up were proving to be a big nuisance as the gifted agents below tried their darndest to lower their numbers.
As his head swept over to the second battle that was taking place between Lucian and Mikhal, he realized that there was a woman down there, fleeing. Her pursuer was encased in a blue shield.
He might not be able to take the guy out because of the shield, but he might be able to slow him down enough for her to get away. As he was about to lower his eye to the scope to pick the bastard off, a blast of light flashed off in the distance, momentarily blinding him. It was as if a bolt of lightning shot off from the ground, wildly flashing as it hit the golden barrier that the ROOT holy users had constructed down below.
